islamorada fishing report sept 2016

The Islamorada fishing report at the end of September is usually very good. We had a few good trips since we got back. The snapper fishing is still good and king mackerel are around.

There are plenty of sharks around the reefs.

We went to the Islamorada hump today. It is about 15 miles offshore in about 400 feet of water. It is very close to the Gulf stream, so the fishing is usually good.

The blackfin tuna were biting good and we got a few big ones. Finished off the day with a quick dip in the ocean.

Sept 23

I had some ladies out fishing with light tackle.  We got blackin tuna in the morning and yellowtail at midday.  Yellowtail  snapper fishing is open year around with a limit of 10 per day.

Oops! The shark got fed first.

Fishing report for September 24

A very hot day with very little current. With a lot of hard work we did manage to get some tunas and a few snappers before we came home.
