The Islamorada fishing report for March started off with much better weather and good fishing. It’s spring break time and a lot of kids and families have done regular charters.

The snapper action has been really good. We have had mangrove snappers, mutton snappers and yellowtails.

There are a few king mackerel around with some sailfish and blackfins also showing up.

The weather has been pretty cool. We have seen some schools of big  bluefin tuna tailing on the water. Some white marlin have shown up and there are some dolphins around.

March 12

The fishing and the weather are still good. We have been fishing the reef. The snapper action has been steady and a few sails have shown up. They bring the fishermen a lot of smiles.

March 13

What a great day for Eli and his Grandpa! Just the 2 of them today and they had a blast. We caught a lot of flag yellowtails and an assortment of other snappers. We had a few kings and released a nice black grouper and a red snapper. Weather is good. No snow here.

March 14 Islamorada fishing report

It was windy today. We stayed on the reefs and had a great day on the snappers

March 18

 

The last couple days have been tough. Water temperature dropped 5 degrees. Bait was hard nto find.

Things are improving today. The blue water is moving back in., We had a nice day on flag yellowtails and a few small king mackerel.

March 21

The weather has been better the last few days. We had good action on the reefs with snappers, yellowtails and kings.

We tried a different approach today and went for tunas. We caught a bunch of feather tunas and had good action all day.

March 26th

It has been quite windy again. Kept us on the reefs, but we had great action. It was especially good for the families with us. We had a lot of nice snappers and some bonita too.
