[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Islamorada charter fishing in January is usually very good. Florida is considered the best place in the world to fish for snook, swordfish, king mackerel, sailfish and blackfin tuna. Fishing is also the best for seatrout, red drum, permit and tarpon.

We started out the month with a lot of wind. But it died down on the 3rd and we had a great trip, a lot of nice sized  snappers and king mackerel.

The wind died on the 6th and we had a bunch of family groups. They had a lot of action on the  reefs with the snappers.

Ive spent the last 2 years talking to several boat builders and when time is right I will be building a new Inspected vessel. We are very much looking forward to this season. Islamorada is back stonger then ever, Islander Resort is open again and so far we have been very busy! Nothing has changed in Ocean City, we will be in the same slip at Fishermans Marina.[/vc_cta][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]1-13  Snapper fishing has been great. there are a lot of them on the reefs. The weather has been great and the blackfin tuna fishing is picking up.

Fished with Dave Jordon and the Nia band from New orleans. A fun time and a lot of fish.

1-17. Front coming on Sunday and the fishing has been great prefront. The blackfin tuna are biting really well which is unusual in January. The king mackerel fishing has been great but the snapper fishing has been tough and slow.

1-18. Nonstop snapper action.  1-19. Winds from the east has made it choppy. Fishing is on the slow side except for the king mackerel. There are sails around showering bait but they are not taking a hook. Some tuna around yet but the bite isn’t good. Hopefully the front will pick things up.

1-24 Weather has beeen too windy to fish. Got out today and had a good day on the snappers including some nice mutton snappers.

.1-26 Wind and rain didn’t keep us from having a good day. A cooler full of snappers and some hogfish and we released some groupers. The guys in the Cheecha tournament got some sails which bodes good for the future.

1-31  Quick trip today, but the bite was great. Filled the coolers
