2008-11-03 – Fun Florida Keys Inshore Fishing Trip
The keys are alive! We had the skiff out today and they had a great trip. The temperature is a comfortable 78 degrees out front and about 73 degrees out back. The guys took about a 45 minute boat ride and fished five miles off east cape. Things didn’t take long before the rods started bending. Cobias, and there seemed to be plenty of them, were anywhere from 15lbs to 60lbs. All were caught on light tackle 10lb to 20lb test. The action was nonstop all morning. The bait of choice was live pin fish and jigs. The guys even caught a few snook and some real nice Redfish which were too big to keep. They also had a few trout. Out front the wheather has been a little hard on us lately with some sailfish and some real nice dolphins up 30lbs. The reef has lots of life on it right now, jacks of all types and sizes with a few snappers and some muttons mixed in. We have had plenty of bait cigar minnows and ballyhoos.
