Summer is in full swing and the fish are showing up for summer vacation!!! The “Pretty Work” has been fishing pretty steady as “That’s Right” has made its journey up to Ocean City, Md. Capt Andrew and Capt Jeff have been doing rather well with the Dolphin offshore. For the last two weeks there have been plenty of schoolie dolphin, up to 8 pounds. As of late, the larger Dolphin have finally started to move through. The guys had some real nice fish ranging up to 35 pounds. The fish have mostly been caught on the troll with feathers and Ballyhoo. The Blackfins have slowed as of late as it seems the stream got pretty wide over the course of the last week so we believe the fish have either moved up the line or have scattered. The “Pretty Work” also put in a couple of Swordfish trips. The bite was pretty good on this moon, however, holding on to them was tough. Seems there have been quite a few small fish, so it was tough staying glued to the fish. Had one report that a guy caught one about 5 pounds!! Crazy but true!
They did fight one fish for over two hours until pulling the hook, darn! We’ll get him next time.

The inshore waters have really heated up too. The guys have done very well with the Yellowtails with mixed sizes but all the fish you want. The Mangrove and Mutton Snappers have also started to take over the reef edge. This Moon will produce some very good Mutton fishing. As a matter of fact, the “Pretty Work” did rather well with some full grown Muttons over the weekend. The night bite for the Mangroves will soon be crazy, lots of fish between 4 and 8 pounds. The action you will get on the lite spinning tackle will keep you busy for hours. The Permit fishing on some of the 100′ wrecks is now in “go” mode. Plenty of these fish are now showing up. Pitch them a live crab and hold on!!

Finally, the Tarpon fishing is also in full swing. The fish are everywhere right now and seem to be eating rather well. Capt. Jeff has managed to catch 2 or 3 fish a day with plenty of great bites, mostly on the live Mullet and Crab. He also reports that the small Redfish with an occasional Black Drum mixed in are still providing great sight fishing for the anglers. The Sharks have also started to really show themselves out back and amongst the bridges, so you have to be quick on the reel handle and stay right on top of your fish in hopes that the Sharks don’t get them!!
