Islamorada Fishing Report – February 01, 2011

This week was a little different as the west wind got us in the early part of the week and we struggled just a little. The King Mackerals just shut right off, however, we did manage to find ourselves into a pretty decent pick of Yellowtails and a handful of nice Mutton snappers.  We let go of a few Groupersp and one real nice Red. The Sailfish showed up in the morning on Thursday but didn’t do much after that. The weekend managed to be a good one as the fishing went back into overdrive. Both “That’s Right” and “Pretty Work” had some real good days with a mixed bag of Tunas, Cobias, plenty of King Mackerels and the Snappers gave the anglers plenty of action. The Sailfish even popped up at different times throughout the weekend.  Bait has been plentiful with lots of Cigar minnows and the Ballyhoo are swarming once again.

The guys even got some Backcountry fishing in and to their surprise the Pompano have shown up a little early and they were hungry!! The reports of Redfish are still good and Captain Clyde said the Trout are still plentiful with lots of action!

We are fishing quite a bit right now so stay tuned for our new Video reports with plenty of get action coming your way. The seminar this weekend in Atlantic City, NJ with Capt. Adam LaRosa and the rest of the Canyon Runner team was a GREAT success!  Don’t forget to check out Versus this weekend!!!!
