The Florida Keys have been getting hotter!! Over the last week down here in Islamorada the Ocean fishing has been hit or miss. The “Pretty Work” and “That’s Right” have both been keeping busy out front with the Dolphin and Tuna fishing but nothing great yet. The dolphin were pretty good the first part of the week however the weather got better and better and the fishing got much harder. The last few days were real slow. We caught a few fish in the morning and things just got slower from there. On the reef edge we had great Yellow tailing and then we lost our current and things became a struggle in the latter part of the week. There have been a few King Mackerals around and the Permit have been hit or miss on the Eagle Wreck. We are going to be doing a few Sword fish trips this week and we’re anticipating a good bite during the day.

The Backcountry has been alive with Tarpon!! Big fish, plenty of bites on both live bait and the Fly!! The guys tell me the bite has been good all week; best time was in the morning and late afternoon. The night bite has slowed down for some reason; perhaps it will pick up again on the next Full Moon coming up. The action out back has picked up with some nice Snook being caught and still plenty of Red Fish.

Things are really starting to pick up to the North in Ocean City, MD. We have already heard good reports on some Tunas Offshore as well as some more Makos. Capt Kieth has really been doing well with the Stripers and looking forward to things getting even better. Check out his report below and let us know if we can help you get out and take advantage of the good fishing!!
