Spring is all about opportunity knocking and you need to be out on the water to answer the door. We have been running and will be running with the start of Spring Break! The reef has been pretty active with the Mackerels, King and Cero’s. Snapper fishing has been good to very good with yellowtails and muttons. Some new spring species are starting to show but getting them to bite is a matter of time, African Pompano are starting to show as are the Permit just have lock jaw at the moment!
We have gotten off the reef and moved offshore some as well, The chunky Blackfins are starting to show up, The mahi bite is getting better. The cobia are getting more consistent. There are still a few sails around also!
Deep dropping for vermillion snapper, tiles, porgy and snowy grouper and yellow edge are open now and we have been cranking on them as well!
As is always the case there are plenty of groupers around to release as well!!!!
It is now time to get it on in the Keys, We are going into the best time of year to be fishing in the keys with the greatest variety of species to target
