The Islamorada fishing report for April 2018 should prove to be interesting. We are going to the Dry Tortugas on April 4th.  The month started out good with some blackfin tuna on the 2nd. We also got some snappers for dinner.

We did manage to fit in a field trip for the 7th graders at Treasure Village.

Finished the first day in the Dry Tortugas. Jim Lewis and Julie had a great time, We caught a lot of fish.  The action seemed to be non-stop. We caught Permits,Snappers ,Groupers some AmberJacks. We released tons of fish. A shame we can’t take more home.

They had more then enough action. Permits,Snappers ,Groupers some AJs and lots of bites.

Second day in the Dry Tortugas, we had ok fishing with a large variety. We caught flag yellowtails, Mutton snappers and some permits. We released a lot of nice sized groupers and some red snappers

4-12. Back home in Islamorada, we had a morning trip with some guys from Ohio.  Great action today. We anchored in 85 feet of water and caught some large yellowtail snapper up to 5 lbs. They have a few bagfuls to take home.

Had a big group at today. A wedding party had great action today. A variety of yellowtails including some large ones.
