Capt Andrew reports of plenty of dolphin action out of Islamorada with huge weed lines packed with Mahi Mahi of varying sizes. Massive schools of small dorado are punctuated with gaffers and much larger fish mixed in. Plenty of action you need to pick through the small fish to get your shots at the big boys and girls. Once the dolphin action slows down, The pretty Work has been sliding into the reef and filling up the coolers with limits of Flag Yellowtail that have been plentiful on the reefs.
Family Fishing on the reef is an excellent way for the kids to get acquainted with the many species that call the reef home. Kids will have many ways to stay occupied as fishing can be non-stop with snapper, sharks, grouper, mackerel, and barracudas. All this and more make an appearance in the summer on the reef.
