Connor Mullet, and his sons Liam and Griffin headed offshore with us on July 13th. We made our fist stop to catch bait were on a wreck in 100 ft using shrimp and 10 lb spinning tackle to catch yellowtail snapper , while catching our ballyhoo for trolling offshore. caught a dozen pound and a half to 2 pounds snappers but the bull sharks ate just as many. We than proceeded off shore and found a weed line in 650′. The dolphin were mostly caught on live bait with a few caught on squid.
July 14th we caught our cigar minnows nice and quick ran offshore caught our first 2 dolphin by a boat cushion floating in about 250′ after that ran out to 550′. We found a big weedline with many large schools of smaller fish. They would only eat the livies picked through for the keepers the two bigger fish swam up while we were picking through some smaller fish. So the Dolphin fishing continues to be strong when we can find the big weedlines. Most of the weedlines have been in 500ft to 600ft of water
